Vice President / Director of Operations

From Carencro, Louisiana,  deliciousbeets began his musical career in 1992 with the formation of the funk-rock-rap group Red Giant.  During this time he acquired his first sampler, the Ensoniq EPS 16 Plus, and began producing sampled beats.  In 1997 he formed the hip-hop group Project Next with Grammy Award-winning producer Ivan Klisanin in Lafayette.  Other notable musical involvement around this time includes the formation of the hip-hop show “Is It Live?” on KRVS Radio with partner Jack Dendy.

Along with his passion for music, deliciousbeets is a chef.  He began his culinary career in 1992 and moved to New Orleans  in 2001.  He was head chef  of 13 Monaghan on the world famous Frenchmen Street for 15 years and specialized in vegetarian, Cajun, and Southern home cooking.  In his off time he pursued knowledge in music production and graphic design. He often draws parallels from his cooking and his music to explain his creative process: it’s always about the ingredients, then execution.

His production tools include the ensoniq EPS 16 Plus (still!), Akai MPC2000, MPC 1000, Boss SP202, SP303, and various synths.  All are used in a chaining method, giving a real 90s warmth to his tracks.  With the formation of Bag Season Records, he merged his bedroom production, gritty style with a diverse team of emerging producers. In July 2020 he released a sci-fi themed beat tape series OSS.1 and OSS.2, depicting a post Covid-19 world where he is a space traveler making his long-awaited return to Earth.  Along with compiling years of beats into personal releases, and collaborations with friendkerrek and AFKA on their releases, he has teamed up with Wino Willy in the production duo Parish and Bird.
